Glass water bottles have been replaced with cans in order to reduce the amount of carbon it takes to transport waste to the recycling centre.
MEETINGS & EVENTS
BENTO BOXES
Guests attending small meetings at the hotel are given individual bento boxes for lunch, rather than a buffet that previously produced a lot of food waste.
WATER FILTER SYSTEM
All events are provided with glass water bottles that are refilled on-site using the water filter system, reducing the use of cans and bottles.
FOOD & DRINK
FOOD WASTE
All food waste generated by the hotel is sent to an anaerobic digester which produces biogas and fertiliser that can utilised or turned into electricity.
OTHER
LIGHT BULBS
All light bulbs in the hotel were replaced with LED lights. Along with energy optimisers and low electricity use equipment, this now delivers a combined 10% year-on-year reduction in energy used per occupied room
GOALS
